The undergraduate department of Computer Applications was started in the academic year 1999 – 2000 with initial strength of 10 students. Later it was extended to 2 sections in the academic year 2008 – 2009.
The strength of the students increased over the succeeding years .At present there are totally 321 students in the department .Many of the students are from under developed sectors. Special attention and coaching is given to enhance their communication and technical skill.
The Department has been producing good results in the university examinations right from the start. The Department has also produced University Rank holders by the untiring efforts of the staff members .The Department comprises of 9 faculty members.
The Department has spacious and well equipped laboratory with thin client Monitor systems powered by high end server and seamless internet facility. These facilities intends to increase the dexterity of the students via the world wide web. Smart classes are an added advantage to the Department as well as to the college.
On behalf of the Association of Computer Science and Applications (ASCA) various activities such as Conference, Seminar, Workshop etc., are conducted within the Campus.
